St. John’s Lutheran Church in Geneseo, IL dates back to 1869. Their building was first constructed by their founding members over the years went through several updates. On March 31, 2009 a fire came and destroyed the church building. The congregation has survived and remained faithful and they are in the process of rebuilding their church.
Through Lutheran Church Extension Fund’s program, Laborers For Christ, they are near groundbreaking for the rebuilding. Bethlehem member Calvin and Marilyn Potts are joining the team in Laborers For Christ in rebuilding. Thanks to these members and others around the country St. John’s hopes to have their new building completed by the fall.
Bethlehem will be assisting in collecting funds for St. John’s.
